4th Wonder of the World ~ Kings Peak at 13,528 ft elevation

The 4th wonder of the world is the fact that I conquered the 13,528 ft Kings Peak 4 times. The first time I climbed Kings Peak was with my son Brett and some Boy Scouts, the second with some engineering buddies, and the third time with my son Benjamin and some Boy Scouts.

My son Matthew and I reached the peak on Friday, August 12, 2011 with some members of his Boy Scout Troup. The meadows were covered with thousands of beautiful wild flowers, about a dozen different varieties. My blisters and aches were worth the experience of accomplishing something difficult. I look forward to climbing Kings Peak with my son Nathanael, and taking a special trip with my wife and youngest daughter.

In preparation, I hiked to Timpanogos Cave several times a week.

It is a wonderful view. Check out these pictures.

Excellent Career Development Resource

Do not mislead by the website name UtahFutures.org. The website is not about Utah jobs, but much more about future careers – in any state. I have used this website a bunch and I find it an excellent career development resource. You have to create an account, but other than our good tax dollars, there are no additional charges. As one example of its capabilities, from the home page select “Occupations and Jobs”, then select “Occupation Index.” This displays an alphabetical list of careers occupations. Select any career to discover a comprehensive list of topics including Working conditions, Wages, Employment and outlook, Program of study, and many more. Each of these topics is a link to logical sub-topics with a gold mine of valuable information.

MyEdu Website Brief Review

As for the MyEdu.com website, so far so good. I like the website. It is becoming useful, even with the odd kinks. I would be interested in posting grades and ratings if they are going to continue to improve and develop the website -- are you? In addition, will these services continue to be free to college students, or do you plan to limit services and charge unreasonable fees for little value functions like Linkedin.com? If yes, I wonder if they will the fix website to allow the addition of future semesters like spring 2012. This would help make their website more "recommendable". Check it out for yourself.
